Process engineer and quality manager
Minimum requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Organization, or similar.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in industrial environments, preferably metallurgy, extrusion or surface treatment.
- Solid knowledge of industrial process improvement.
- Proven experience in ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Proficiency in process analysis and management tools: Advanced Excel, Power BI, ERP, Lean tools, etc.
- Minimum English level B2 (ability to understand technical documentation and written technical communication).
- Technical leadership skills, initiative, critical thinking, and communication skills with different levels (operators, managers, and senior management).
- Training or experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar will be valued.
Description
At Protecciones y Lacados, a leading company in aluminum extrusion and surface treatments, we are looking to add a Process Engineer to our team who, in addition to leading continuous improvement in the factory, will take on the management of the quality system under ISO 9001 standards.
The position has a dual focus: on the one hand, the continuous improvement of production processes; and on the other, leadership of the plant quality system, guaranteeing the standards demanded by our customers and certification seals (QUALICOAT, QUALANOD).
We are looking for a technical profile with global vision, analytical skills, and a strong focus on industrial process optimization. This person will be key to advancing toward more efficient and safer production with increasingly demanding quality standards.
Main functions
- Analyze, design, and improve production processes in different areas of the factory.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose continuous improvement actions in terms of costs, times, quality, and safety.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Lean/5S methodologies.
- Complete management of the ISO 9001 quality management system, including documentation and audits.
- Manage internal non-conformities and customer complaints with a corrective and preventive approach.
- Monitor key quality and process efficiency indicators (KPIs).
- Work across departments, including production, laboratory, maintenance, and management.
- Participation in the digitization and automation of control and quality processes.
